One of the things that continues to shock our clients is the discovery that ticks can be found on dogs even in the deepest, coldest days of winter.
Ticks do not die during the winter. They only hibernate. Give them one warm day and they will awake from their torpor and literally grab onto anything warm and furry…so that they can feast on a blood meal!

Dog Flea and Tick Products are Needed
Ticks require blood in order to grow and to lay eggs. They are extremely resilient and tough-to-kill creatures. They are the vectors of several debilitating and potentially life-threatening diseases including Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Erlichiosis.
Prevent Tick Borne Disease
During the course of our regular wellness evaluations we regularly diagnose dogs with tick borne illnesses. As many as 1 in 20 dogs in our area test positive for a serious tick borne illness. Please do NOT ignore the threat that ticks pose to your dog or cat AND to your family.
