Upcoming road construction to impact
access to our hospital.
The New Hempstead Road construction and beautification project is underway and is expected to take two years to complete. Our hospital will remain open during this area wide construction.
Access from New Hempstead Road may create unexpected traffic delays, so please plan for the extra time when coming to drop-off or pick-up your pets.
The construction starts at the Main Street / New Hempstead Road intersection and work its way up toward the Palisades Parkway.
The first phase will entail replacing the bridge spanning the Demerest Kiln Creek which will result in traffic being detoured from New Hempstead Road just west of the Chase Bank to North Main Street.
Once this is completed work will continue westbound on New Hempstead.
The road will be straightened, sidewalks, decorative street lamps, and cross walks installed, and the surrounding area landscaped with the intent of making the area more pedestrian friendly.
