Animal Medical of New City Only Seeing Urgent Care Cases At This Time

In compliance with the New York State On Pause Executive Order, Animal Medical is limiting our care to patients that are sick, injured, in pain, near end-of-life, or having an emergency.  If your pet needs vaccines, or his or her annual exam, please use the form below to reschedule your pet’s appointment in May or later.

Animal Medical Of New City Offering Telemedicine Veterinary Services

For those of you who are concerned about exposing yourself or one of us to coronavirus, we are now offering telemedicine appointments. This should go a long way in keeping you, our employees, and our community as safe as possible. Telemedicine services may not be available for all pets.  If you would like a telemedicine appointment you can call us to get started or you can go ahead and download the necessary app and use it to schedule your pet’s appointment.  The app is available in the IOS Apple or Android store.  When signing up, please use the email that you have on file with Animal Medical.

What Can I Expect From My Telemedicine Appointment At Animal Medical?

First, we need to determine if your pet can be examined and diagnosed using telemedicine.  Please call us to explain your pet’s medical condition or download the app and use it to schedule an initial consult, then we’ll be able to give you clear direction.  By NY state law, we are only able to offer telemedicine services to pets that are experiencing an emergency or to pets that one of our veterinarians has physically examined within the last year.

Once you have the app downloaded:

  • Use it to schedule your telemedicine appointment at a time that’s most convenient for you.
  • Upload an image via ‘chat’ or request a real-time video consult to discuss your concerns about your pet with one of our doctors.
  • If we find that your pet still needs to be physically seen by one of our veterinarians, we’ll schedule the appointment and implement the social distancing protocols we have in place to keep you safe during your visit (see below).

Curbside Care At Animal Medical To Protect You Against Covid-19

To keep our team members and you safe during this crisis, we are offering curbside care.  Simply call us when you arrive and we’ll have one of our team members talk to you on the phone about your pet’s medical condition. Then we’ll come to your car and bring your pet inside for an examination, treatment, and any other care he or she may need. Please keep in mind that these extra steps will add about 15 to 30 minutes more to your pet’s appointment, so it’s best to plan for 1 hour of time at our practice, but know that we’ll do everything we can to finish sooner if possible.

Hours of Operation at Animal Medical Changed Due To Covid-19

Our hours of operation have changed in response to COVID-19.  We are now open from 9-5PM Monday-through-Friday and on Saturdays from 9-3PM. We are closed on Sundays.  For the latest information on changes to our hours or any other aspect of our operations, please see the home page of website.

Limiting Cash Payments At This Time

Though we are still able to take cash for payment, we would prefer if you use a credit card so that we can complete the transaction without undo risk of exposing you or others to coronavirus.
